1. To cover up parts of a picture without deleting and to work non destructively.
2. You can do a paste into option or you can use your masks button and select what you want to keep or you can also use your masks button and paint with black.

1. This bar is located right underneath the menu line. The options bar is context sensitive, it changes as different tools are selected. You can move the options bar from its default location to anywhere in the work area.
2. The Sponge Tool saturates / desaturates image areas. The Dodge tool lighten or darken areas of the image. The clone stamp tool paints the surrounding pixels to make it look cloned.
3. With a painting tool selected, Control + Option (Mac) – drag left/right in order to decrease/ increase brush size. Control + Option (Mac) – drag up/down to decrease/ increase brush hardness. On Windows, Alt + Right Mouse -drag left right to decrease/ increase brush size and up/down decrease/ increase brush hardness.
